English Language and Literature Education
English, generally known as ‘global language’, is the lingua franca of the modern era. There is a great quantity of ethnic and linguistic diversity in India. So, English functions as a vital 'bridge' among all languages. Teaching English to non-native speakers is always considered as a difficult endeavour because learners confront a variety of issues, including rural and impoverished areas, mother tongue interference, psychological dread, and so on.
This issue of Academic Canvas intends to promote cross-disciplinary conversations among English and Literature educators, focusing on problems and opportunities for teaching and learning. It is primarily interested in receiving research papers on a wide range of topics relating to the many long-running currents of thought and new waves of thought about various language teaching and learning contexts. We urge students, researchers and teachers to present new ideas in English and literature education, especially in the areas of technology, research technique, curriculum design, and global communication. The goal is to better understand the tenor of teaching and research in today's shifting, increasingly hybrid academy by bringing both sides (teaching and learning) of the coin together. Topics might include but are not limited to the following:
- New Perspectives on Enhancing English Language Teaching Skills
- Crossing Boarders and Building Bridges in ELT
- ELT and the digital divide: Challenges & Strategies
- Cornerstones of successful ELT classrooms
- Integrated Content and Language Learning (CLIL)
